The London Police

Although their name sounds a bit authoritarian, the London Police are a duo of artists who are passionate about art and pursuing their mission to make the world a more beautiful place.

"Don't be afraid, don't be a hero and let the good times roll," is the motto of the artists who, despite a brief separation, have been described as a duo more loyal to each other than Han Solo and Chewbacca in Star Wars.

TLP - that's Brits Chaz Barrisson, he draws the iconic "LADS" characters, the little smiley guys with precise black-and-white lines, and Bob Gibson, whose fine, comic-like, figurative and architectural illustrations which, combined, create an endearing, exciting fantasy world.

The duo began in 1998 when they went to Amsterdam to help rejuvenate the visually disappointing streets of the Dutch capital of drugs. They were part of a small group of artists who paved the way for a new street art movement at the end of the last century. After a few years of combining travel and street art, TLP received worldwide recognition for their contribution to the graffiti/street art movement. They were included in many books documenting the scene and invited to shows and live performances around the globe. Since 2009, TLP have focused on more intensive canvas work, larger solo shows and large-scale mural projects.

Besides painting, the London Police also enjoy making short films, photography, installations and music.

Their work adorns buildings and galleries in more than 35 countries, including England, Holland, Singapore, Italy, Norway, Slovakia and the USA.
